National Park Science Classes
So far this summer, the kids have attended two homeschool classes at the local National Park. They are run by a sweet lady who not only loves nature, but she loves homeschooled kids...and it shows! The first class was all about mammals that live in the area. The kids got to see and feel the furs of may different animals. They discussed which mammals live around our county, and then they played a few games to learn about the food cycle.
The second class was about rivers, streams, and the things that live in them. They got to go for a hike in the woods to a stream, and then spent an hour or so collecting samples of the critters that live in the water. It was a lot of fun! We were so sad we had to miss the July class, but we can't wait til the next class in August!
