Barefoot Homeschool Adventures: Batter Up!

Baseball Man LOVES...no, he LIVES for baseball! It's in his blood. He played travel ball when he was 8, but we decided it wasn't for us. He's been back in Rec ball for the last year, and is loving it. He was the best player on the team in the fall and again in the spring, and this is the 2nd time he's made the All Stars Team...so he has gotten to play most of the summer too! In fact, he has one more tournament to go next week!

This little guy has the natural talent it takes to make it in the sport, so we are fully encouraging him to pursue baseball with his whole self. He usually plays 3 days per week with his team and can often be found practicing his swing around the house. In just one of his games this year, he hit both a 3-rbi-triple AND a grand slam! It was awesome! He even got to pitch some this year, though catcher is still his favorite position. He's definitely the best catcher any of us have seen at such a young age. But he's the kid that the coach can put anywhere and he really thrives and does a lot to help his team!

He absolutely loves our local Minor League Professional team, and we go to games as we can. He tries to listen every game or watch them on the computer. He has gotten to know a few of the players, and they know him by name now. He attended a 2nd Revs camp this spring, run by his two favorite Revs players. It was a fantastic time for him and he learned a lot. He also has had one private lesson so far with Travis Witherspoon, and he learned a ton about batting techniques from just that one lesson. He can't wait to do more!
